This one-and-a-half-hour guided tour is the perfect opportunity to discover one of the most important museums in the Region of Murcia and to explore the life and work of Francisco Salzillo, the greatest Baroque sculptor of 18th-century Spain.

The Salzillo Museum houses the extraordinary collection of processional sculptures created by the artist for Holy Week in Murcia, including the celebrated Passion cycle, considered one of the finest examples of Spanish Baroque religious art. During the visit, we will analyse Salzillo’s unique style, his mastery of polychrome wood sculpture, and his ability to convey emotion and movement with remarkable naturalism.

We will also explore the Nativity scene created by the artist, an exceptional ensemble that reflects daily life, craftsmanship and popular devotion in 18th-century Murcia. Throughout the tour, we will place Salzillo’s work within the broader context of Spanish art history and Baroque spirituality.

This tour is designed for small groups of up to 12 participants and is led by an official licensed tourist guide, a history graduate and specialist in historical heritage, ensuring a rigorous, engaging and culturally enriching experience for anyone interested in art, history and cultural tourism in Murcia.
